McLaren died at a hospital in Switzerland after a long battle with mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer.

Biography
Malcolm McLaren was the manager and according to many the brains of The Sex Pistols. He also managed the New York Dolls and Bow Wow Wow. Malcolm was controversial manager and was often accused of exploiting the bands he managed for his own gain, a notable example of that was putting out "The Great Rock N Roll Swindle" to make money off of the Sex Pistols after they had split up, John Lydon refused to take part in the movie, but the film was still released. This behavior was common for McLaren. I don't think many punks will miss Malcolm, however he is the most important manager in the history of punk rock.
